X9050 To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} c. to CJ. c. to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} E1/M27.1.23. "SEAGULL" CYLINDER BLOCK, CYLINDER HEAD GASKET, AND ALTERATION TO HEAD. X.9050. We send you herewith drawings Nos.LeC.1672 and 1673, shewing the above. You will notice that there are 2 cylinder blocks in groups of 3. This is done for the sake of convenience and simplicity in casting the cylinders as a complete block of 6 is rather a colossal job. The shape of the cylinder block has been skimmed down as much as possible, and this entails some alteration to the cylinder head, which is shown on the latter drawing.
