X.4334 SEV Magneto off Delage Car.
This magneto was found to have a broken secondary winding & the collector ring was in wrong position so that sparking occurred after the brushes had left the segments.
A break in the connection between one end of the secondary & its collector segment was repaired, though the winding is still open circuited.
The collector ring was moved so that sparking now occurs when the brushes are just fully on the segments.
The distributor brushes are found to be just fully on their segments at sparking.
The machine gives fairly regular sparking on a 3m/m gap.
