Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} X4117. S/W....EW. -> c. to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} C3/026.9.30. Re 131-WJ...Sir Robert Hadfield. I note you have seen the driver of Sir Robert Hadfield's car, have tested the car on the road, and your advice is that Hartford shock absorbers should be fitted in addition to the existing ones. I am not sure that you would be in order in putting these in hand without Sir Robert's approval, as I know he is rather difficult when it comes to paying for things. What do you think would be the charge, roughly? I do not want you to go very carefully into details, but just give me a rough figure that would cover us. I would like to write to Sir Robert and tell him it will cost so much, and I presume we shall be in order in putting it in hand. I do not think you ought to go to any great expense until we have his approval and I do not think there is any frantic hurry so far as Sir Robert is concerned. C. | ||
