BATTERY IGNITION CONTACT POINTS

Your Rl/M11.7.27. We have arranged the order of precedence of further experimental tests as follows :-

NO.
27 Scrubbing action for tungsten combined with alternative springing.
This is now ready for test.

20 U.S.A. Bosch contact breaker and distributor run with RR. electrical pieces.
You have the result (not specially good) of U.S.A. Bosch run with its own electrical circuit.

22 Mushroom rotor (Platinum and tungsten).

11 Run platinum points with distributor removed (your R2/M16.5.27). Tungsten has been done with very indifferent results.

14 Maximum possible condenser capacity. Tungsten points.

25 Three-lobe cam. Tungsten and platinum.

26 Still finer primary coil. Tungsten and platinum.

29 Insulated lever, earthed point. T. & P.

30 Delco-Remy lever on RR. breaker.

21 Offset lever. Platinum. Tungsten running.

23 Quick break cam. Tungsten. Platinum reported.

These tests are proceeding as quickly as circumstances will permit.

Having now received 27, we have pieces for all the tests except 29, and 30, the possibility of which is under consideration, from the point of view of further comparison of RR. and Delco. It is to be noted that both Bosch and Delco-Remy are, with their off-set ;evers, more noisy than the standard RR. and we beliebe would not pass for
