Dear Lp.{Mr Lappin}

Many thanks for your Lp{Mr Lappin}3/LAM1 3.10.31.

I think that we may ultimately give you a very high compression ratio and let you run your car on lead with a view to obtaining some information on what happens. I do not think that anything would break but you might get loss of tune through valve distortion, and if this happend we could fit a liner on the cylinder block to bring you back to normal.

Your information re ignition control is certainly of interest and we shall have to check up the accuracy of our cams etc. as there is no doubt that as the compression ratio is raised it is more important that this spark should take place at precisely the right moment.

I am really hoping that I shall be able to ring you up next week and tell you that your unit is standing on the floor waiting for your car, but I do not want to do this until we have no further chance of delay.
