The centre portion of inner cowling at front removed to reduce oil temperature. An air vent was also marked on the bottom front cowling by M.Paulin to be cut, if found necessary, on Montlhéry. Montlhéry. Centre lamp and front centre of inner cowling removed. 6.50 x 18" Dunlop Racing tyres at 45 lbs/sq"; Oil temperature 120°c I68.633 K.P.H. I04.7I M.P.H. Centre lamp replaced and 18" x 2" slot cut in bottom of front cowling. 9 laps non stop. Oil temp. 125°c 4 laps at I69.225 K.P.H. I05.17 M.P.H. This test was taken after standing during lunch hour. No filter in air silencer 4 laps 2 laps at I70.5I4 K.P.H. I05.95 M.P.H. checked standing start at I32.95I K.P.H. 82.64 M.P.H.
