XSSUD G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} W. Hancock, Hotel de France, Chateauroux, Indre, FRANCE. To GM. From He/Rn.{Mr Robinson} He/hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}1/WJ.22.3.30. We have received your report of the 20th.inst. The failure of the felt on the axle system of lubrication is rather serious and we are going into it to see if we can reproduce it. We have received the valve and are astonished that it has got into such a bad condition. From all our experience we should say that pre-ignition has been taking place. We have wired you today as follows :- VALVE ARRIVED. SUSPECT PREIGNITION. WHAT PLUGS ARE YOU USING?. We should like to know exactly how your brakes are wearing and whether you think the system as you have it on your car will have adequate life in service. With a view to giving us some information on plugs, we should like to know how the plugs you are using compare with the standard old type K.1 20 HP plug for pre-ignition. It occurs to us that the perforated plate which should support the gauze on the back of the lubricator, a drawing of which we attach, may be missing on your car as otherwise we cannot see how the gauze could collapse. Will you please let us know whether this is the case. He/Rn.{Mr Robinson} | ||
