Attached herewith is a summarised report of the running in France carried out on 40/50 cars fitted with 4-wheel brakes, this year. It will be seen that the total mileage is over 100,000. The analysis of the troubles on the car show up the following points :- (1) The coachwork - including wings, spare wheel carriers and windscreens, are very unreliable. No doubt the conditions under which the cars were tested (over bad roads) caused considerable frame distortion. The windscreens on all the cars fell to bits, some of them several times. There were cases when the whole sheet of plate glass broke and fell on to the drivers. The final cars were driven fitted with contd :- | ||
