[Handwritten and crossed out: X3602, X3599] Details hereunder of weights supplied by the Rudge Whitworth Co. of Straight Sided and Beaded Edged Rims will no doubt be of interest 1 = 32 x 4 1/2 Straight Sided Rim only -- 26 lbs. 1 = 820 x 120 Beaded Edged Rim as used by Rudge Whitworth. -- 15 lbs. I have not the respective weights of the 820 x 120 and 32 x 4 1/2 Tyres,-but no doubt Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} already has these. Rudge Whitworth Co. are completing two sets of "Goshawk" Wheels with Straight Sided Rims and one set with Beaded Edged Rims, and making special efforts to get these here in three weeks from date. - we shall know towards the end of this week exactly how they are progressing. In the meantime I would remind Hy.{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer} that Rudge Whitworth Co. are not making the distance piece and collar, Pce.No.G.50835. I understand Drawing Office have already issued the necessary instructions to the Shops for the production of these pieces, so that they will be available in time to marry up with the wheels in 2/3 weeks from date. It might be wise to press the Shops to have these ready in two weeks in case Rudge Whitworth anticipate their promise. As far as the Dunlop Wheels are concerned, special efforts are also being made by the Dunlop Co. to get their sets available in three weeks, earlier if possible - they are also proceeding with two Sets of Straight Sided Rims and one Set of Beaded Edged Rims. | ||
