X1003 To By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} c. to E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} c. to Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}11/KW.13.12.34. Referring to Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead}1/GB.12.12.34, we think that the single cylinder work which has been done on this head has given excellent results. Naturally it is necessary to confirm these by full scale tests, and we should therefore like the details to EB.2050 to be modified to V.1734 so that we can check up on the complete engine. We already have a head to EB.2050 which will serve as a basis of comparison. We appreciate that we may have to lose some of the advantages gained by the large inlet valve and port owing to the fact that an induction pipe of similar proportions may impair our snap opening up on the road. In any case we believe that we can take full advantage of it in any engine prepared for competition work. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
