1305 INLAND MANUFACTURING DIVISION GENERAL MOTORS CORPORATION DAYTON, OHIO March 22, 1938 LES Mr. W. A.{Mr Adams} Robotham Rolls-Royce Ltd. Derby, England Dear Mr. Robotham: We have your letter of March 7 on our new type Inlox Bushings and have sent a copy to our Sales Department with the request that they give you quotations. Regarding the last paragraph in your letter, while we are not entirely familiar with the deflection rates of Packard's torque arms spherical rubber, we would judge that this construction would have a much higher deflection rate endwise and sidewise in comparison to the torsional rate than our new type of bushing. Very truly yours, F.{Mr Friese} W. Sampson Ass't. Chief Engineer FWS:vt CC: Mr. H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} C. Berkeley Mr. J.{Mr Johnson W.M.} C. White.
