Re. Chassis No.286-AJS. - H.L.Wessel.

With reference to our instruction book recommendations regarding the use of anti-freezing mixture, we are rather coming to the conclusion that the use of pure glycerine (previously thought good) is not to be recommended owing to its action on the scale inside the cylinder block. At present we are in a position to recommend, from our experience only one compound viz: Prestone. This is universally used on our cars in U.S.A. and gives immunity from freezing up to any desired degree according to the amount used full instructions being given on the tin. We believe this is obtainable in this country.

We have had no experience with heaters under the bonnet and are not therefore in a position to make any recommendations.

We are enclosing, as requested, the letter from Messrs. Pass & Joyce Ltd.
