112A. TELEPHONE NO 4495. (2 LINES.) Engineering Laboratory, Cambridge. 19th. June, 1939 W.A.Robotham, Esq., Rolls Royce Limited, DERBY. Cylinder Corrosion Tests. Dear Robotham, Enclosed report as promised. To save you time in reading, the relevant information is to be found in Table 1, page 6. I have, however, given a condensed version of the test procedure in case the previous report is not available. From the point of view of corrosion, the differences between the steels is small, but I have yet to try the combined corrosion and abrasion type of test which more nearly resembles engine conditions. I should like a chance to talk over these experiments and various engine problems with you, so at your earliest free date let me know and we can lunch here and go round the labs.. Could you drop me a line and I will ring you early next week to fix details. Yours sincerely, [Illegible Signature] | ||
