Dear Mr. Ross, With further reference to my letters Whr{Mr Wheeler}21/D5.11.31 and Whr{Mr Wheeler}11/D10.11.31, when Mr. Hives sent us your photographs of complete cars produced by you he suggested that we might offer some comments on them. I sent the photographs to Mr. Honeyman who looks after all the bodies we order in this country, and who is a Member of and Secretary of what we call our Coachbuilding Sub-Committee. It occurs to me that some of his remarks might be welcomed by your people if they are taken in the spirit in which they are offered, and therefore I am taking the liberty of quoting them and should be glad if you would let me know whether or not your people consider them helpful:- " I think some of the cars are not at all bad-looking. For instance - the St.{Capt. P. R. Strong} Martin, which is very reminiscent of GLR-29 which we sent to the U.S.A. for propaganda purposes, is not at all a bad-looking car, although we might want to alter it slightly to make it suitable for our market. The Sports Car reminds me somewhat of Saoutchik. I think the worst thing about this is the trunk at the back, the lines of which do not harmonise with those of the body.
