Cost Reductions. Front Spring Rear Anchorage Brackets. We have examined the proposal put forward in Sft{Mr Swift}/WNW.1/EJ.19.12.35. The sheet metal type of spring bracket was originally used on the 20-HP. chassis because at the time it was stated that sheet metal parts were less costly to produce than forgings. It is for this reason that many other sheet metal pressings exist on this chassis. It appears however that this is in many cases a fallacy and that each item must be judged separately. We find that the J.S brackets F.58338 can be fitted on to the 25-30 with no alteration except to frame drilling, and we have arranged with RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} to fit them up on 22-C-V for 10,000 miles test so that in due course a standardisation sheet can be issued. We understand that the forging dies are in existance and there should, therefore, be no appreciable tool cost. E/Lid.{A. J. Lidsey} 21 | ||
