X.4383 - GOSHAWK DYNAMO OUTPUT CURVES.

You have set dynamo E to the up-to-date specification of production test and at this setting have taken output curves at 85ºC with and without the ignition current subtracted. These two curves should be plotted on the small sheet dated 13.7.23, the curve at present thereon being removed. This machine not being a very up-to-date one, we do not require for this a curve taken on general specification lines.

We want now to select one of the up-to-date machines on one of the experimental cars, to have this removed and replaced by the E dynamo temporarily, and to 161 from 86II taken.

(1) First set this to the production specification of test.
(2) Take similar output curves on this with and without the ignition at 85ºC carcase temperature.
(3) Take a curve precisely in accordance with the instructions contained in the general specification of test.
(4) Arrange for this dynamo to be replaced on its own chassis, after which we will take an output curve on the road under actual working conditions, for comparison with the bench curve with the ignition subtracted.

Copies of these curves are to be sent to Mr. Minchin.
