7411 To E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} from Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} c. to Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} c. to By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} Attached is a copy of a letter we have received from the Morse Chain Company. We sent them drawing LEC.4132 for the Wraith front end drive, and this letter comments on the scheme. We are ordering 3 sets of parts from America, and propose to run rig tests comparing these with the English produced pieces. If By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} would produce the necessary details and get some pieces on order from Letchworth, we can push forward with the experimental work on this aspect of the new car. The Cadillac now running in France will give us some idea of the durability of the chain drive front end, but we wish to have parallel tests running on rigs in the Experimental Dept.
