Contd -2- EFC2/11.12.19. pulled into action before the actuator box. We quite agree that it is desirable for the actuator box to pull into gear at least as smartly as the main switch. We should imagine that the objection you raise would hardly occur in practice as it seems very unlikely that anyone, in operating the push button switch, would stop on the carbon contacts. One would think the tendency would be to press the switch too hard rather than too softly. Regarding the placing of the two actuator coils in parallel, this was suggested as a means of increasing the strength of the actuator box at the time, but further practice has shown that this was not really necessary, as the desired result could be brought about in other ways.
