1336. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls}1/JH. 4th October,1937. The India Tyre & Rubber Co., Inchinnan, SCOTLAND. For the attention of Doctor Young. Dear Sirs, We have completed the tests on the Skid pan with the latest silent 6 1/2 x 17 tyre having the thin central rib. Compared with the original noisy tyre, the cornering powers on the tyres we have tested are :- first type India silent - .63 2nd. type India silent - .75 General - .68 Although the thin central rib tyres are an improvement over the first variety, we still hope you will be able to do better. We will send back to you the first set of tyres as we have no use for them and you might be able to make use of them. The 2nd. set we will run to see if they get more noisy. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
