Swindell} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}1/R.29.6.38. CAST IRON ENGINE. We hear from Leylands that they have much more difficulty in getting clean bearings on a cast iron engine than one with an aluminium crankcase. They overcome this difficulty by painting the inside of the case with a special mixture. We have asked Swindall to obtain a quantity of this paint for the new unit.
