- 2 - E.1/HP.10.2.33. assumption that no damper gauge would be required, but this makes a deeper panel and would reduce its length, creating we think a somewhat stubby appearance. The increase in the depth of the instrument board with such a scheme also becomes inadmissible if a central change gear lever were likely to be used. Referring back to drawing RR. scheme 334, this illustration shows the external view of the proposed new single lever switchbox, which is shown arranged for the three rate charge dynamo scheme. With voltage control the switching becomes much simplified. The instrument panel is arranged with concealed prismatic lighting, and as shown on RR. scheme 334 is built up with a pressed sheet metal box and an independent beading somewhat on the lines of our present patch. This complication however is not necessary when the instruments have separate glasses and we have a simpler construction in hand in which the beading is combined with the metal mount, the mount being held on by concealed screws or some suitable fixing from behind.
