X1586- To Mx.{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} from Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Lid.{A. J. Lidsey} c. to Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} BENTLEY LUBRICATING OILS. As you are aware it is proposed to use Vacuum Oils throughout on this Bentley car. The Vacuum oil for hypoid axles is Mobiloil "EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}". This oil appears on Gleasons list of approved oils for hypoid axle gears. Will you please arrange for one new Bentley axle to run its dynamometer test on this oil. It appears to differ from previous hypoid oils in that it looks like a straight mineral oil. We do know however that mineral oils are now being made which will do the job. We will supply you with sufficient oil for the test when you require it. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Lid.{A. J. Lidsey} | ||
