To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} Y 3066. Wor{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}3/T20.6.32. RE STANDARDISATION SHEETS. It appears to be the present practice to issue Standardisation Sheets for signature without the signatories having any idea of the difference in cost which will be caused by adopting the modification which it is desired to standardise. In future, will you please therefore arrange for the cost figures to be inserted on the Standardisation Sheet before the sheet is sent out for signature, so that all those who agree to the recommendation for standardisation shall be fully aware of any increase in cost that may be involved. At the present moment a Standardisation Sheet is in course of circulation for the adoption of Nitro Hardened Crankshafts on the 20/25 HP Chassis. It seems likely that the adoption of this will cause a substantial increase in cost, although the actual figures are not yet available. Before this particular item is finally adopted the signatories of the Standardisation Sheet must be informed of the increase involved, in order to see whether their decision is affected in any way.
