Worm Geared Back Axle.

30/5/11 EB/B30511 I want you to get ready at least 3 or 4 sets of roughed out blanks of the worm and wheel for our back axle. Two sets I should send to the English Companies - Browns and Wrigleys, or anyone else you think makes a speciality of Hindley worm bearing. Also I want you particularly to send two sets to America - one to the Albro-Clem Elevator Co. of Philadelphia, and the other to the Otis Elevator Co. Hindley Worm Gear Department, Philadelphia.

The American blanks should be sent off quickly and they should be given a free hand to do the work, and let us have an estimate for cutting the blanks in lots of 100 at a time.

These two American firms are more likely to do the work right than anyone in England, except, perhaps, the
