Dear Sirs,

X 4342 V

Starter Motor for "Goshawk II" Engine.
-------------------------------------

Replying to your letter of the 9th ult., ref: RL/DM {D. Munro} please receive herewith one blue print of each of the following drawings:-

D.50048 - Shaft.
D.50049 - Bearing Bracket.
D.50050 - Outline.

Shaft Drawing - D.50048.
------------------------
The motor end of shaft has been made in accordance with your drawing A {Mr Adams} /158, excepting the shoulder on the shaft, which we prefer to stand out from the face of the carcase .187 instead of 5/64". Also, we propose sending the shaft to you with the knurled portion left plain, as we think it will be better for you to do the knurling operation in the case of this special shaft.

Bearing Bracket - D.50049.
--------------------------
The rim of driving end bracket has been made to match with the carcase drawing A {Mr Adams} /158.

Outline - D.50050.
-------------------
Has been completed as far as our information goes. Drawing No. 5325 shewing your standard plain bearing machined. Having no particulars of the ball bearing which you are fitting on the commutator end bracket we should be glad if you will complete the outline drawing at the commutator end, adding the overall dimensions requested on our drawing, and return one blue print of same to us (an extra print being sent of the outline drawing for this purpose).

(Contd).
