PEREGRINE EXHAUST VALVES.

We have now proved that these are definitely unsatisfactory. On No.5 unit we find that in addition to the valve which is broken there is another one with the head which is just about to come off. Therefore it is definitely unsafe to continue running with these valves and E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} has issued a design which is being instructed to you today. We should be glad if you can push through three or four sets of these valves as we cannot risk writing off units by the failure of the existing type.
