Re Steering Pivot Tests on the Track. - T.R.47/68 Instead of having ballast bags and pieces of wood for obstacles we are now using the cast iron weights which were used for the frame deflection tests, these are 2" high. I enclose photo showing them in position on the track. Our reason for changing them first because the ballast bags get flattened out and it was a job to get comparative tests, second, because we wanted to try and break a pivot with lots of small bumps instead of a fewer number of large ones. There were 37 obstacles on the track and the car covered one lap per minute. All pivots tested are the old type which are breaking.
