BENTLEY 50 MATERIAL COSTS

In reply to Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}3/R.1.12.37 re material costs for the above car, and taking the present cost sheets as a basis from which to work, we can effect a saving of approx. 58% by the following methods:-

(1) Substitution of Mild Steel for Staybright.
(2) " " Nickel plated mild steel lagging covers for 15% nickel steel covers.
(3) Substitution of Jubilee clips for Staybright clips.
(4) Use of rubber exhaust suspension instead of present spring type.

We give below the actual cost of the parts at present used and the cost of the proposed new parts:-
