21st. March, 1939.

The Light Production Co.Ltd.,
60/66 Rochester Row,
LONDON.S.W.1.

For the attention of Mr. Brooks.

Dear Sirs,

Many thanks for the courtesy extended to Lewis and myself while at Slough.

Regarding the points raised in connection with the producing of the piston EW.2121.

The material AP.404 is identical with RR.53, they are one and the same.

We would like you to produce a modified drawing of this piston, incorporating those features which are your standard practice.

(a) Elliptical grinding.
(b) No pressure test.
(c) Holes in the gudgeon pin bosses for location.
(d) Gudgeon pin fit to be same as Aerolite.
(e) Ageing, as for the Aerolite.

In the meantime, we would like you to put this job in hand, so that we may keep within your usual delivery time of about 6 weeks.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.
