PHANTOM PEDESTAL PISTON
IN FORGED MAGNESIUM. X90260

We send you herewith drawing Lec. 2292. as promised in a previous memo., in which you will see we have modified the piston in many ways.

You will notice that we have deleted one ring which gives us a better chance with the piston as well as saving the weight. We think the 3 pinned rings and the one unpinned one will be ample.

You will notice also that we have lengthened the skirt .250".

Should these pistons come out materially lighter, and in other ways give satisfaction, we should improve the engine in many ways, as the weight of the piston and little ends is a source of some of the defects in the 6 cyl. engine.
