(those for loads of 200 lb. and 250 lb. were omitted to avoid confusion) were plotted as a polar curve (BL.2207, Sheet V); it will be seen that this curve approximates to an ellipse indicating that the displacements may be represented by a family of ellipses whose quotation is :- equation r = 11W / 50{4+5sin²(θ+β)}¹/² where θ is measured in degrees from 1 & 6 direction towards 2 & 5.
