Copy to Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/BAG.4/ST.{Capt. P. R. Strong} 21st April, 1941. Messrs. Motor Panels Ltd., Holbrook Lane, C O V E N T R Y. Attention of Mr. Smith. Dear Sirs, Confirming our visit to your works and our interview with your Mr. Payne on Friday, April 18th, with reference to the storing and preservation of press tools for B.V bodies, while we appreciate the difficulty you have in obtaining the right class of labour for this work, we were surprised to find that nothing had been done in the way of opening and greasing the tools. We understand, however, that you have arranged for press operators to start work at once and to carry on with it, whenever possible for them to leave the presses. We understand that some of the delay in suitably storing these tools has been caused by your having to clear the space that will be used for this purpose. We were glad to see that you have made a store for small tools and collected some of them into it. It was arranged that you will let us know when all the tools have been dealt with, so that we may come over and inspect them. Yours faithfully, | ||
