EPICYCLIC 3rd SPEED GEARBOX. X.7310. C. to HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} HY.{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer} X.2200. After our experience in driving 14-EX. with the experimental Maybach dogs we tnink it will be necessary to modify to some extent the Maybach jaws on the epicyclic 3rd. speed box. The angle as instructed is 7° and 6° respectively on the vacquum and nani controlled dogs. Clicking seems certain to occur. We send herewith a print of N. sch. 3230. shewing the suggested modifications which we have sent to Derby, as the box is being built up rapidly. DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
