WST

Dear Sirs,

For the attention of Mr.West.

Mr.Manwaring brought back with him a Bentley Speedometer on which the Trip was not working, and upon examination it was found that one of the screws holding the Trip in position was not tight home.

The Trip had moved sufficiently for both the Drive and the re-set Spindle to come out of gear. No harm had been done to the instrument, and the screw in question was simply tightened up.

The instrument has been carefully tested, and is being returned to you today.

It is a remarkable thing to us that an instrument should pass all our tests in this way. The screw might not have been dead tight during our tests, and the Trip might conceivably have moved slightly after the tests - perhaps during transit to your Works.

This particular trouble is one that has never, to our knowledge, arisen before, and we shall certainly take all the necessary steps to see that it does not occur again.

Always at your service,

We beg to remain,
Yours faithfully,
For THE A.T.SPEEDOMETER CO.LTD.

H R Buckland
Director.
