168 COPY LETTER RECEIVED FROM :- Major-General C.E.F.Curtoys, Grey Wethers, Tavistock, DEVON. 3rd September 1936. Dear Sirs, I recently purchased a 3 1/2 Litre Bentley Car 1936; B.117 T.C. and am having trouble with the petrol pump, I understand made by you. I have had two fitted in a fortnight, but find little difference. They are noisy in action, and at speed pulling up hill, I have found petrol supply suddenly fails momentarily, and car loses speed and power, then it picks up again, but I never know when it will happen, and don't feel safe on the road. It is a new car, has run 1,200 miles, and I cannot think anything but pump is to blame. The main filter has been cleared. Is it not possible to test a pump out before putting it on the car. I have, of course, communicated with Messrs Bentley, as on a car of this class one should not experience these troubles so soon. Yours truly, (Sgd.) C.E.F. Curtoys. | ||
