E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from R.{Sir Henry Royce} c. to BJ. Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} X5070 R1/M8.4.28. X.5070 X.5080 INDIA 3 - INDUCTION PIPES, CARBURETTER ETC. You will notice that I favour this being exactly the same as 'SS{S. Smith}' Phantom. Therefore as far as I can judge your LeC.2529 is the best, but possibly in going over it again you can finesse some little gains. I should favour LeC.2527 length of boss so that head joint can be made with box key on all studs as you suggest (much better practice). I cannot see why the same head will not do for underfed pipe - i.e. LeC.2531 (or with new carb. R's sketch which we hope to have ready soon) and why your underfed present carburetter should not be tried. R.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
