Herewith D.CD.627 showing a Shield to prevent surplus oil draining from end of column and rotting horn cable. Shield will be in oil resisting rubber, and fit on end of riding control tube and replace the existing moulded bush. Length of riding control tube as before, but counterbore deleted and groove added on outside diameter to provide a grip. The rubber shield will also be unbreakable. An oil proof horn cable would cost 1/6d. extra, so that a saving can be effected if the combined shield and bush can be obtained for about half as much. This scheme should be applied to all types of chassis, if successful. DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
