For the attention of J.A. Daniell, Esq.

Dear Sirs, ✓ 1262

We thank you for your letter of the 14th. instant. We have not now got a drawing of the Rover arrangement of prop. shaft sliding joint but our recollection of it is that it is more complicated than the latest American practice.

The attached sketch shows what appears to us to be the American arrangement, although we have never seen a drawing of the scheme. We were hoping that you would have some information on the subject.

Since writing to you the last time we have started some experiments on the needle bearings of propellor shafts. We will defer our visit till we have obtained some results as if they are what we are hoping for they will be of interest to you.

Yours faithfully,
FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.
