Phantom III Stromberg Carburetter.

The above carburetters which we are running on our experimental cars have had the floatchamber feed mofied by R.A.C. to Ax.22405, which represents a convertion of existing bodies to the finalised layout Leo.4933.

We recommend that this modification be carried out on your existing carburetters in order to be clear of starvation at high speeds, until the correct and final carburetters come along.

Further to the above, the needles should be bull nosed as shown on the attached sketch Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}108 which appreciably increases the flow, a modification which Mr. Eisher of the Zenith Co. agreed to.

The existing needles can be so modified and in the meantime we are instructing this type of needle with the correct orifice to the final carburetters.

The floatchamber level as set under car conditions, that is with petrol pump and carburetter in position should be .562 from the parting surface.
