C.J. X/0/3 30th Sept. 1910 30/9/10 R4/D30910 Since we cannot get hold of anything very easily I am inclined to abandon the Renault as I have since learnt very much of what we wanted to find out, - and that is that these cars are as troublesome as most cars with ignition knocks, necessitating the car running with half throttle on the hills. They also carbon up in about 1000 miles, necessitating the cylinders being removed, because then the knock gets uncontrollable. We believe the Renault is just as bad as ours at the same compression, - I never saw the reason why it should not be. The carburation at slow speeds is exceedingly bad. There are two pipes, one leading from the carburettor and one leading from the extra air valve mechanism to the throttle which is situated a long way | ||
