Dear Sirs,

For the attention of Mr. Mantell.

Further to our telephone conversation, I can now confirm that I shall be in Paris on Tuesday and Wednesday Oct. 9th. and 10th. and should be very interested to see your Carburetter Laboratory.

One point we are particularly interested in is whether you agree with the practice of the Zenith Co. of water heating their float chamber etc. on their aero carbs. in order to prevent freezing up.

Our experience has been that such a practice causes trouble with volatile fuels and we have not had good results from heating the petrol before it has been metered.

We have recently had somewhat glowing reports of Crankshafts which have been plated with a cadmium and chromium. We understand that this gives the shaft as hard as if it had been casehardened and is much simpler than the nitrogenising process. The Hispano people are running shafts, we understand. Is there any chance of visiting their Works in Paris?

I shall be travelling over on Monday probably by the 2.o-clock train from London.

Yours faithfully,
