PRIVATE 16000. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}/Thn13/MH.{M. Huckerby}20.8.35 re SPARKING PLUG TROUBLE AT PEMBROKE DOCK ----------------------------------------- With reference to your memo Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst.10/KW.19.8.35, we note that Lodge A2/1 plugs as well as the K.L.G.V7 are obsolete. We, with you, are not quite clear as to why K.L.G.V9/1 plugs have been fitted to the "Singapore" engines; it was certainly not to our instructions or wishes, which we thought we had made clear in our EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}12/MH.{M. Huckerby}17.8.35. We do not agree that there is anything contradictory in Bate's report. The position is clear to us that Lodge A2/2B sparking plugs had been originally fitted, and due to some trouble developing, instead of fitting some fresh Lodge A2/2B plugs the Station had reverted to K.L.G.V7/2B. They subsequently fitted some new Lodge A2/2B plugs, on Bate's recommendation, and cured the trouble. EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}/Thn [Handwritten note] There was of course nothing against fitting these KLG V7/2B's as approved for these Engines | ||
