ORIGINAL.

It would seem that we are drifting away from needing my sch. for damping control but it might be wise to keep it going on some model because if at all good it would be a fine selling point, and put us above the common competition.

I said in my last memo. that I did not see much cleverness in Delco scheme but I did not give them sufficient credit for their practical design.

We should be too proud to just copy them, and should do some-thing better, or buy theirs, but this latter would be very distressing, and would indicate that we are now only catering for the same quality as the Americans, and we cannot do it as cheaply, so we should be done, and out of the car world.

BROACH FOR FINE SERRATIONS IN BORE OF INTERNAL LEVER.

The grooving would be smaller in diameter at this end, but this No. 1. would have the tops ground smaller than No. 2.

It has just passed through my head as an easy way to make - i.e. the same idea as a free cutting tap which is threaded larger at the point but ground smaller.

First cut low and a little too broad : No. 2. only cuts on top.
