Hanbury - Head Complaints} Hamilton The car was travelling from Limoges to Angerton & at approx. 5.50 pm was 20 miles from the latter climbing a gentle rise about 5 miles long the car being well on the correct side & the speed approximately 60 mph. The lorry was descending well towards the centre of the road. When approx 50 yds away the car brakes were applied lightly leaving a faint mark 14" from the grass verge. The lorry continued in a usual path until about 12 yds away when it turned suddenly towards the car. This was immediately driven onto the grass verge as far as possible passing within 2' of a telegraph pole. The front wheels were completely off the road & the left-hand rear wheel was about a yard from the verge at the moment of impact. The car seems to cut on the road. The lorry continued on the grass leaving the road completely on on the wrong side for about 50 yards. The driver stated that his steering gear had seized & admitted all liability F.W. Ash. | ||
