contd :- -7- (4) No advantage is to be gained by the use of smaller valves than at present employed with regard to detonation, ignition advance or self ignition. In order to gain more information about the influence this type of head exerts on detonation, we are preparing for road test three heads - the standard cast iron, the original alum; and the alum. one with the larger deflecting surfaces - and arranging for each to have the same compression ratio of about 4.65 to 1. We shall also continue bench tests with the latter mentioned head and intend trying this type with one deflecting side removed. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/A.C.Lovesey! | ||
