To Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} from Ha/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls} c. R.{Sir Henry Royce} By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} c. Mft. Hd.{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy} c. Br.{T. E. Bellringer - Repair Manager} Ha/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls}B/KT.4.10.33. 20/25 CLUTCH SLIP - QUARTERLY COMPLAINTS. We have suggested previously that filing each tooth of the pressure plate separately to a filing gauge is not sufficiently accurate to ensure even pitch line slack. We suggested using a complete circular gauge so that errors in spacing of the splines should be corrected. HWC. thinks it will be impossible to modify pressure rings from .025 to .020 slack by hand. We recommend that they are made in the works, tested by a gauge, and that Ld. and Br.{T. E. Bellringer - Repair Manager} keep a supply to fit to customer's complaints. The pressure rings that are removed can be sent back to W. for modification. A gauge should be used to make sure that the serrations in the flywheel are correct. Ha/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls} | ||
