Sir,

I have pleasure in informing you that the high speed fan, which you fitted to my chassis U.E.25 previous to my departure for Italy in October, has proved, as far as I can judge, a complete success. The weather was very hot during the whole run, particularly so on the 13th October, when I travelled from Grenoble to Turin over the Col du Lauteret, Mont Genevre and Col de Sestrieres. The engine ran perfectly the whole time, and the indicator never showed a higher temperature than 97.50°. There was never any sign of boiling, though I crossed La{L. A. Archer} Futa pass, between Bologna and Florence on an extremely hot morning, and a temperature of 98 was registered for a few seconds. During the greater part of the climbing the average temperature was about 85. The car has a cabriolet body, and there were four passengers and a considerable amount of luggage.

There are now, I believe, about a dozen or more of your cars in Rome, and should you think it worth while to send an inspector from Nice during the course of the winter, I should be glad to be informed.

Yours truly,

(Signed) H.Lloyd Thomas.
