87960. To Cx.{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager} From Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}1/MJ.16.6.32. With reference to the attached. We have no illusions over the performance of the present 25 HP. car. The latest 25 HP. has only a moderate performance and we do not expect it will be very long before you will be complaining about it. I have been on Hopps' present car and it is an extraordinarily good car. We think if your demonstration cars are going to convince existing owners of 25 HP's you cannot afford to sacrifice anything as regards weight or gear ratio. We did ask you when you first had 20-G4 at Whitsuntide that it should be taken on Brooklands, and that comparative accelerations at speed should be taken so that you did know what you were selling.
