Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Ba. RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} GRY{Shadwell Grylls} SpectreCodename for Phantom III Gearbox. We should like the selector lock housing for this box brought into line with that for the Wraith to save cost and weight, as we show on N. Sch.4234 herewith. Will you kindly note that the counterboring of the selector rod bores is important as it reduces the accuracy of alignment necessary to avoid binding and also reduces the oil drag. A radius on the ends of the interlock pin will ensure that the counterbore does not trap the pin. This housing is intended for the third box but we should be glad if RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} would add the counterbores and radiused pin ends to the pieces for the second box now building. HDY.{William Hardy} | ||
