Mr. Brookes,
The Light Production Co.Ltd.,
60/66, Rochester Row,
Westminster,
LONDON, S.W.1.

Dear Mr. Brookes,

We have received your invoice of the 11th October for 6/- for anodising 6 pistons, together with an invoice for these same pistons of 1.10.34.

We think that this is a case where these parts should have been supplied free of charge. The work is purely experimental and to our mutual benefit. As we pointed out to you, in tests such as these we spend a considerable amount of money in supplying new cylinder blocks and doing test bed work, all the benefit of which you are able to take advantage of in due course and pass on to your other customers. While we did not know whether we should be able to give you any business the position was somewhat different, but the position now having changed we think the parts supplied for research work should definitely be supplied free of charge.

We shall be glad to hear that you agree to this.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED.
